Tropical Storm Barry?

This week all the weather outlets have been warning all of us about the possible formation of a tropical storm. Although getting the message out is an important job these guys started days ago when the system had a 20% chance of forming, while many people in the gulf states are still picking up the pieces from Hurricane Michael. Sometimes I believe there is to much warning. Don’t get me wrong watches and warning save lives but when you start talking about the event 4 to 5 day in advance people become complacent and frankly get tired of hearing about it and turn the channel, in turn causing more damage than help especially when the storm dissipates or goes in a different direction all together like Hurricane Sandy, or Hurricane Florence. It is these nonevents and missed forecast that cause the public not to heed the next warning, even though our technology is getting better by the day forecaster can still make mistakes or even miss data that changes the outcome of an event. As this week unfolds we will probably see a developing tropical storm named Barry, and we may even see a Hurricane Barry taking aim at Texas or western Louisiana, where ever this storm goes anyone living on or near the ocean should always have their evacuation plans, or hurricane supplies ready at the beginning of every hurricane season, and not wait until it is too late to fully prepare for a storm.
